Promoting to make Solar Energy the core element in Global electricity supply and for a Green and Clean future, the Group has focused on Solar cell production, PhotoVoltaic (PV) module Manufacturing and Solar Farming for Power Generation.
The Group is in discussion for equipment and technical collaboration with SCHMID and CENTROTHERM of Germany for setting up a PV Solar cell manufacturing facility. It would be implemented in phases- the first phase would entail a 100 MW and will go up to 500 MW of Cell Capacity.
Sonthalia Group has finalised the technical know-how and equipment with 3S SWISS SOLAR SYSTEMS AG of Switzerland for setting up a project for PV Modules manufacturing in India. The pilot project is to be put up in Sector-II Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ) so as to ensure proper infrastructure. The initial manufacturing capacity will be of 25 MW which will go up to 200 MW by the year 2012.
The Solar panels produced by the Modules Manufacturing Unit will be used for the domestic market as well as exports. It will also be utilized for power generation & supplying to the grid. To be efficient in generating power, the Group is in discussion with SCATEC SOLAR of Norway and SOLAR 23 GmbH of Germany as technology partner. The group is in possession of around 150 Acres of land at Panagarh, Dist. Burdwan (West Bengal) and have two separately notified SEZ’s for Non-Conventional Energy. The group is planning to develop their SEZ’s for Solar Farming to generate Solar Power. The Group will further implement such Solar Farms on Pan India Basis.
The integrated Solar Cell and PV module Project is a part of Solar Fab and falls under the semi-conductor policy of the Govt. of India envisaging an investment of more than Rs. 1000 Crores over a 10 year period.
